Professional learning, training, and consulting rooted in the MIRROR Framework

Seeds to Roots brings the MIRROR framework into the places where children are raised, taught, supported, and understood.

Our trainings and consulting help educators, leaders, parents, caregivers, and organizations examine how identity, relationships, belonging, stress, cognitive load, and the environments surrounding children shape development and learning.

Programs can be offered as keynotes, workshops, professional learning series, school site trainings, leadership institutes, facilitated learning communities, observation visits, or customized organizational partnerships.

MIRROR FRAMEWORK TRAINING

The MIRROR framework is the foundation of Seeds to Roots professional learning.

Participants explore the connections among identity, relationships, stress, belonging, cognitive load, resilience, and development, and learn how to translate that understanding into everyday practice.

MIRROR helps adults look beneath behavior and academic performance to examine the conditions surrounding a child. Trainings can be designed for educators, leaders, families, clinicians, community organizations, and multidisciplinary teams.

SCHOOL SITE TRAININGS

Seeds to Roots provides customized professional learning directly to school communities.

School site trainings are designed around the needs, goals, and realities of each campus and can include teachers, administrators, student support staff, classified staff, specialists, and other members of the school community.

Topics may include:

  • MIRROR and the Architecture of Belonging

  • Identity, cognition, and learning

  • Stress-response patterns and student behavior

  • Relationships and relational safety

  • Cognitive load and access to learning

  • Culturally grounded teaching and learning

Trainings can be offered as a single professional development session, a full-day institute, a multi-session series, or ongoing coaching and implementation support.

Professional learning can be designed for teachers, principals, district leaders, student support teams, classified staff, and multidisciplinary teams.

MIRROR can be integrated into preservice teacher preparation, leadership development, continuing education, and professional learning.

Seeds to Roots partners with organizations serving children, youth, and families outside traditional school settings.

Training helps organizations strengthen identity-affirming practice, relationships, belonging, youth development, and culturally grounded engagement.

EARLY CHILDHOOD & FAMILY-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS

Seeds to Roots works with preschools, Head Start and Early Head Start programs, early childhood centers, family resource organizations, home-visiting programs, and early childhood leaders.

Training focuses on how identity, relationships, attachment, stress, environment, and adult interpretation shape children’s development from the earliest years. Training also includes Early Literacy Strategies aligned to the MIRROR Framework.

OBSERVATION & LEARNING VISITS AT PEAR TREE

Pear Tree Community School serves as an observation and professional learning site for Seeds to Roots.

Educators, teacher candidates, school and district leaders, university partners, and organizational teams can observe how identity, belonging, rigorous learning, relationships, curriculum, and organizational systems come together in a living school environment.

Visits may include classroom observations, guided reflection, conversations with educators and leadership, and opportunities to connect observed practice to participants’ own settings.
